Here at ONYX Protective Films, we offer Gyeon's detailer exclusive 9H Ceramic Coating, purposely developed to perform with PPF (paint protection film) and painted surfaces. Gyeon Ceramic Coating offers unrivaled gloss, superior hydrophobic properties which helps repel dirt and liquids, and resistance to light scratches and fading. The coating bonds at the molecular level to seal and protect surfaces from environmental contaminants, making surfaces easier to clean and maintain.
ONYX PROTECTIVE FILMS DETAILING PROCESS
CLEANING

The vehicle is washed using Gyeon PH neutral shampoo utilizing the two-bucket method and soft wash mitts to loosen, lift, and remove dirt particles off of the paint.

Wheels are cleaned to remove grime, dirt and brake dust.

Door jams, air vent inserts, and lower sections are wash and cleaned.

Vehicle is air and hand dried using 1100 gsm microfiber towels.
DECONTAMINATION

Combination of PH neutral Iron & Tar is applied to dissolve and remove tar, asphalt, rail dust, and other environmental contaminants.

The bodywork of the vehicle is treated with a clay bar. This material collects any left over contaminations embedded in the paintwork.
PAINT CORRECTION

Paintwork is corrected to eliminate paint imperfections such as swirl marks and increase gloss properties of the paint. (This process does not remove any scratches that have gone all the way through the paint)

Surface is wiped, checked and prepped for the application of Ceramic Coating.
SEALANT

Three layers of Gyeon 9H Ceramic Coating is applied to the painted surface or PPF ensuring an extra layer of protection and hydrophobicity.

Each panel and section are inspected and quality checked.

WHAT IS CERAMIC COATING?
It's a solid transparent, slick and highly self-cleaning silica-based protective layer once crystallized. It might be applied on any surface of your vehicle to provide the ultimate protection.
HOW DOES THE COATING WORK?
The layer might be very thin, but is extremely resistant. Being a liquid during application, the coating penetrates the porous structure of the paint and seals it. This does increase the slickness of any automotive paint enormously. A ceramic coating has great UV resistance, which prevents the paint from oxidation.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HAVING CERAMIC COATING?
It's not all about the looks! Of course, a well prepared and ceramic coated car looks amazing, as Gyeon coatings are very glossy and enhance the intensity of the paint. But you will notice most benefits on a daily basis. The car will get dirty much slower, the usual maintenance wash will become less frequent. Your car will feel slick and will collect less dust and pollen. Paint will not oxidize and your paint will remain glossy as new for years.
WHAT CERAMIC COATING WON'T DO
It will not protect you against stone chips or any other mechanical damage. A ceramic coating is not paint protection film. It is a fantastic tool for a conscious user to help maintain a vehicle in perfect condition with great use, but it will not solve all issues!
